The mission of the Committee on Accreditation and Continuing Medical Education is to improve the delivery of health care, help ensure a healthy practice environment, and preserve the professionalism of medicine through excellence in the principles and practices of continuing medical education for physicians in Minnesota.

The committee develops and implements policies and procedures for the MMA accreditation and CME programs that comply with the criteria of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME).

The committee also serves as the MMA's agent to accredit intrastate CME sponsors and to coordinate CME activities sponsored by the MMA and those jointly sponsored with nonaccredited organizations.

The CACME meets approximately four times per year.
