The MMA advocates for its members in Minnesota courts and administrative agencies to preserve a fair medical-legal environment where physicians can provide excellent care to their patients. This sometimes involves filing a brief as amicus curiae (”friend of the court”) with the appellate and/or supreme court about how its decision might affect physicians or health care in Minnesota. The MMA also monitors and comments on the work of the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice.
