MMA sends Action Alert! about looming Medicare payment cut
MINNEAPOLIS, June 12, 2008 - The MMA sent an Action Alert! to its members Tuesday urging them to contact Senators Norm Coleman and Amy Klobuchar and ask them to stop the drastic cut that goes into effect July 1 by supporting the bill, S. 3101.
The bill would prevent the looming Medicare payment cut of 10.6 percent and provide positive payment updates for 18 months.
There may be a vote to start the debate on this bill this week. Call now and tell our senators to vote YES on the procedural vote to start debate onS. 3101.
Contacting Sen. Norm Coleman is especially important, since the Democrats will need about 12 Republican votes to get the bill heard on the floor.
The AMA supports S. 3101, which is a bipartisan bill by Sens. Max Baucus, D-MT, and Olympia Snowe, R-ME.
Use the AMA’s automated hotline at (800) 833-6354 to reach Coleman and Klobuchar.
