The MMA Foundation works with physicians and in communities across Minnesota to advance optimal health and health equity. This work is made possible through donations from physicians and other friends of medicine.

The Foundation’s mission is to advance the MMA’s mission to be the leading voice of medicine, to make Minnesota the healthiest state, and the best place to practice.

The Foundation’s vision is physicians leading efforts to advance optimal health and health equity for each individual and all communities.

The MMA Foundation’s work to advance optimal health and health equity is made possible by the generous donations of physicians and other friends of medicine. Thanks to you, the MMA Foundation offers these and other initiatives:

• Community health and health equity grants to fund local, physician-led and evidence-based efforts to advance health and health equity.
• Medical student scholarships to fund students’ clinical research and community service interests.    
• Physician volunteerism to improve access to care in medically underserved communities.
• Suicide prevention training to teach physicians how to routinely screen for suicide risk and how to conduct a brief best practice assessment.
• Changing the Face of Medicine to support initiatives that tear down barriers that stand in the way of too many whose dream is to become a physician.
