MMA Foundation Scholarships for Medical Students
The MMA Foundation provides scholarships to medical students at the Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine and the University of Minnesota School of Medicine - Duluth and Twin Cities campuses.
The MMA Foundation’s scholarship program includes several named scholarship funds that are administered according to the wishes of the individual or organization that established the fund.
The Friedman-Bowen Primary Care Scholarship Fund Grants
The MMA Foundation awards Friedman-Bowen Primary Care Scholarship Fund grants each year to spark interest in primary care as a career and to encourage the capabilities of medical students by providing support for student-initiated and student-designed projects that show promise to improve the knowledge or practice of primary care.
The Indihar Advocacy Scholarship Fund Grants
The MMA Foundation honors Frank Indihar MD's legacy by offering advocacy scholarships to empower medical students to be part of the next generation of advocacy leaders.
The Reuter-Lien Well-being and Health Equity Scholarship Fund Grants
The MMA Foundation honors Nicolas Reuter, MD, and the late Richard Lien, MD by offering opportunities for medical students to undertake a research or service project to create positive change for health equity or well-being.
The MMA Foundation MCAT® Fee Relief Grants
The MMA Foundation is committed to increasing diversity in medicine to ensure all backgrounds, beliefs, ethnicities, and perspectives are adequately represented in the medical field. Now, we offer an MCAT® fee grant program to help pay the MCAT® fees for a limited number of Minnesota students. Funding preference for this program is to students from racial and ethnic populations underrepresented in the medical profession relative to their numbers in the general population.
