Accredited education/continuing medical education (CME) is one of the primary means to ensure that physicians are supported in their efforts to maintain competency after residency.

The MMA is dedicated to facilitating accredited education that promotes evidence-based change, professional development, and improved patient outcomes. To do so, the MMA offers accredited education programs that are customer-focused, straightforward and cost effective.

Joint Providership

Joint Providership is the process by which two organizations, one an accredited continuing medical education (CME) provider and one not, form a partnership to plan, implement and evaluate an activity approved for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.

As the accredited provider, the MMA will work with you throughout each step to ensure compliance with all necessary requirements while building quality educational activities. You will maintain control of what matters: content development, budget, logistics, marketing, revenue generation and on-site management.

Maintenance of Certification

Through ACCME’s collaboration with American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) member boards the Maintenance of Certification (MOC) process has been simplified and MMA is pleased to offer MOC points for the following:

  • American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA) MOCA
  • American Board of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery (ABOHNS) MOC
  • American Board of Pathology (ABPath) Continuing Certification
  • American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) MOC
  • American Board of Ophthalmology (ABO)
  • American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) MOC
  • American Board of Surgery (ABS)

Provider Accreditation

CME Accreditation in Minnesota and North Dakota

The MMA is recognized by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to accredit organizations and institutions providing continuing medical education (CME) in Minnesota and North Dakota. Accredited CME is an essential component to life-long learning and physician professional development in the eyes of the U.S. organizations of medicine.  Through its accreditation program, the MMA seeks to assure physicians and the public that CME activities presented by accredited providers meet the high standards adopted by the association and by the ACCME.
