MMA Membership Dues
MMA membership is open to all licensed physicians, retired physicians, residents, fellows and medical students.
Physicians members are required to join their local component medical society (CMS) if one exists in their region.
Dues by Type
(MMA membership dues are prorated April - September)
One-Year Regular Membership - $555
MMA’s individual membership, active January 1 - December 31.
Three-Year Discounted Membership- $500
Individual members who make a three-year, non-binding commitment receive a 10% discount. Dues are paid annually.
First Year in Practice - $139
Physicians in their first year of practice receive a 75% membership discount.
Second Year in Practice- $278
Physicians in their second year of practice receive a 50% membership discount.
Third Year in Practice- $416
Physicians in their third year of practice receive a 25% membership discount.
Part-Time Practice- $278

Residents/Fellows - FREE
Medical residents/fellows working in an accredited program can join MMA at no cost.
Medical Students - FREE
Medical students studying in an accredited program can join MMA at no cost.
Retired Members - $75
Retired physicians who have held a paid MMA membership for fewer than 15 years have access to all member benefits for a significantly reduced cost. Benefits include, but are not limited to, deeper registration discounts and a mail subscription to Minnesota Medicine.
Retired Emeritus Membership - FREE
Retired physicians who have held a paid MMA membership for 15 years or more can maintain their benefits at no cost. Please call (612) 362-3728 or email membership to activate.

Group Membership Discounts
100% Group Membership
Clinics with five or more physicians will receive a 15% dues discount, when 100% of its physicians become MMA members.
90% Group Membership
Clinics with five or more physicians will receive a 10% dues discount, when 90% of its physicians become MMA members.

IRS Information
The 1993 Federal Revenue Reconciliation Act states that portions of association expenses related to lobbying are not deductible.
For 2023 and 2024, 95% of MMA dues and 100% of all other component medical society dues may be deductible as a business expense. Medical association dues are not deductible as a charitable contribution.
