Community of Practice to Welcome Equity Champion

March 2, 2023

On March 27, Priya Sury, MD, will present virtually on the topic of “Mental Models for Meaningful Change: Advancing Health Equity through Challenging Dominant Knowledge Paradigms” to the Minnesota Health Equity Community of Practice (CoP).

Sury practices emergency medicine, serving the most vulnerable patients in the healthcare system. She sees problems in the emergency department as manifestations of society's most critical issues and is passionate about the emergency department’s role in improving quality of care for underserved patients across the Twin Cities and rural Minnesota. She will also include a Q & A session in her presentation.

The CoP is a peer network dedicated to advancing health equity and addressing the significant racial and ethnic health disparities that persist throughout Minnesota. Health equity leaders and professionals come together from around the state to learn, exchange expertise, network, and discuss issues and priorities.

The CoP is open to all professionals and leaders from Minnesota health systems, medical groups, and medical associations with an interest in health equity. If you are interested in joining or learning more, please contact Haley Brickner, the MMA’s health equity coordinator.
